I hear you, Jon — books on my wishlist rarely become available on Bookmooch, but it’s actually led to the discovery of new books I didn’t know I wanted. Because you don’t really have much to lose when you acquire a book through Bookmooch except a point or two, I find myself mooching books I’m unfamiliar with on topics that I’m interested in, and some great discoveries have been made.

I like Bookmooch as a concept, but I found that its a very hard site to actually make a trade on. Within my 6 months on it, I sent out 4 books and only got 1 back. Most of the trades waited in limbo until I nixed them. Not sure if I’d suggest. Of course this is not the fault of the site, but rather its users.

i’ve had really good luck finding books i wanted at swaptree.com. haven’t tried either bookmootch or paperbackswap yet, tho.

I love BookMooch more than PaperbackSwap too. Much more. BTW, I just got a book from you and am about to mail one to you tomorrow, so I guess we have similar tastes. Looking forward to exploring your blog…
